FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you pay?

When you contribute to Horror Homeroom, you’ll get a byline and a four-sentence bio that includes a link or two to whatever you’d like to promote — your website, Twitter feed, latest ebook, etc. We’ll also share your post on our social media in order to help you reach as many readers as possible. But we do not offer monetary compensation at this time.

How long should my posts be?

Ideally, posts are between 600-1100 words.

Should I pitch you my idea before writing the post?

If you’d like to, go ahead. But we’re happy to consider a draft as well.

Should I include links within the piece?

Yes. Links that are relevant and helpful to the reader experience are encouraged. We especially love when you can link to other Horror Homeroom content!

Should I write a headline?

If you want to suggest one, that would be great! But we do retain the right to tweak it it according to SEO guidelines.

Will you edit my post?

We’ll edit for content and clarity but we do our very best to preserve your voice.

Anything else I should keep in mind?

Posts should be written in blog style, with short paragraphs and include images. Including a few sub-headings is much appreciated, and please use only one space between sentences.

Should I include a photo?

No need. We do not currently add photos to the byline.

We look forward to your contribution!
